As of April 20th, 2026, BigLake is now called Google Cloud Lakehouse. BigLake metastore is now called the Lakehouse runtime catalog. Lakehouse APIs, client libraries, CLI commands, and IAM names remain unchanged and still reference BigLake.

The Lakehouse runtime catalog is compatible with Apache Flink to provide
centralized metadata for Google Cloud Lakehouse. You can connect Apache Flink
to the Lakehouse runtime catalog using the
Apache Iceberg REST catalog endpoint endpoint, which provides a standard
interface to discover and manage Apache Iceberg tables.
