The Cloud Marketplace search experience uses AI to match customer queries, goals, and problem descriptions with the most relevant products. For AI agents, the system relies heavily on structured metadata to understand your product's capabilities, target audience, and use cases.
Providing accurate and comprehensive metadata improves your product's visibility in:
- AI Overviews: AI-generated summaries that explain how your product meets a customer's specific needs.
- Conversational AI Mode: Follow-up answers and recommendations during multi-turn discovery conversations.
- Search Filters: New horizontal filters on the search page, allowing customers to filter AI agents by industry and business function.
Mandatory metadata fields for AI agents
When adding product details in Producer Portal, you must provide the following metadata fields for AI agents:
Industry
Select the industries that your AI agent is specifically designed for or has been tailored to support. If your AI agent is industry-agnostic, you can select options that indicate general availability, but specifying target industries helps customers find specialized solutions.
Business function
Select the organizational functions or departments that benefit most from your AI agent. This helps customers searching for solutions to specific departmental problems (for example, "customer support automation" or "sales forecasting").

Category
Ensure that your AI agent is assigned to the correct primary and secondary categories. The category selection process in Producer Portal helps classify your product within the broader Cloud Marketplace taxonomy, which is used by both the standard search filters and the AI discovery engine.
Add metadata in Producer Portal
To add this metadata to your AI agent listing:
- In Producer Portal, navigate to your AI agent product.
- Go to the Product details section and click Edit.
- On the Product info tab, complete the fields for Industry and Business function.
- Select up to two Category IDs that best represent your AI agent.
- Submit your product details for review.
