About Filestore Enhanced Backups

Filestore lets you back up your instances on demand or automatically using a Backup and DR Service.

Backup options

Filestore offers the following backup options:

  • Standard backups: Filestore creates, manages, and stores standard backups in the same project as your Filestore instances. This is the existing Filestore backup offering that lets you create on-demand backups. For general information about how backups work, see backups overview.

  • Enhanced backups: Backup and DR Service stores and manages backups. This is a centralized, managed backup service that offers advanced features for data protection and management.
